Aeropress Filters

The paper filter is what makes coffee from the AeroPress so clean and clear. It traps the oils and even the finest particles of ground coffee, so that only sweet, aromatic, and completely clear coffee—rich in distinctive flavors—remains in the cup. With the AeroPress, the ground coffee is submerged in hot water the entire time, and extraction takes place quickly and intensely—and the filter is the final factor that determines the outcome. kofio These are the original white filters directly from AeroPress Inc., with a diameter of 6.35 cm, designed for the standard version of the coffee maker (for the XL, you’ll need a larger one, approximately 7.3 cm).

They’re single-use, and you can easily dispose of them along with the coffee grounds—just tap the filter into the trash or onto the compost pile, and you’re done. If you drink one cup a day, a pack will last you almost a year. How to use them: Place the filter in the filter basket, rinse it with hot water (this removes any paper taste and warms up both the chamber and the cup), screw the filter basket onto the chamber, and you’re ready to brew. If you want more body in your cup, try not to use two filters on top of each other—with just one filter, more dissolved substances pass into the drink, and the coffee tastes fuller.
