Elizabeth Troyes grows coffee on the Los Romerillos farm together with her husband. Their journey to specialty coffee was not a straightforward one—after years of farming at lower altitudes, where coffee farming no longer made sense, they sold their land and moved to the mountain village of Buenos Aires, where they rebuilt their farm from the ground up. Over twenty years of working with coffee, seven of which focused purely on specialty production, Elizabeth gradually introduced more technically demanding processes, divided the plantations into separate lots, and built a solar drying facility.

The result is a household that is thriving—and children who can go to school. Work on the farm is a family affair: her husband oversees field work, while Elizabeth handles processing, drying, and day-to-day operations. This dedication pays off. In 2024, she won first place in a regional competition; in 2025, she took second place and ranked among the top 20 producers in the Peruvian Cup of Excellence. An SCA score of 87.25 speaks for itself—and three years of collaboration with the Irish roaster Calendar Coffee suggest a relationship built on mutual trust.
