Gardelli

Gardelli Specialty Coffees from Forlì, Italy is synonymous with absolute excellence in the world of fine coffee, defined by the motto "acidity is not a crime". The roastery, which is adorned with the title of world champion coffee roaster, is known for its uncompromising approach to bean selection and its unique style that allows the natural sweetness and complexity of each harvest to shine through.

Behind the whole project is Rubens Gardelli, a fascinating personality and self-taught artist who has worked his way up from family bar to coffee Olympus. Rubens is known as a tireless innovator - he built his first roasters himself and was the first Italian in history to win the World Coffee Roasting Championship (2017). His passion has taken him to his own on-farm projects, such as in Uganda, where he experiments with processing methods as part of the "Mzungu Project" to prove that even from less traditional regions, coffee can be sourced to astronomical ratings.

The roasting philosophy rejects any compromise: there is only one ideal roasting profile for each coffee, which Rubens personally tunes until it is perfect. Gardelli does not look to the established rules of the market, but is guided solely by taste and uniqueness, making his pink bags a sought-after collector's item for coffee connoisseurs around the world. Each bean thus reflects a combination of scientific precision, artistic intuition and a deep respect for the work of specific farmers.
