Lucid Coffee Roasters

Lucid Coffee Roasters is a relatively young but ambitious roastery founded in 2021 by Stephen Houston. It aims to break down the barriers between consumer and producer - sharing as much transparent data as possible about green coffee purchasing, roasting profile, brewing education and the people behind it. By "lucid", the authors mean clarity, clarity and liveliness - values they want to carry over into their coffee business.

Stephen Houston has more than a decade of experience in the industry: from buying coffee to processing, production management to online sales and education. His achievements include 2nd place in the British Roasting Championship (2023). In 2019, he visited growing farms and processing stations in Colombia to better understand the challenges of production. The roastery works openly with farmers, holding public profiles of roasting, green coffee prices and other data - all with the aim that every coffee lover can better understand the process behind each cup.
