MABÓ Coffee is a specialty roastery in Bucharest founded by the world runner-up in coffee roasting. What began as a combination of two passions is now ranked among the top three specialty roasteries in all of Europe.

Behind the name MABÓ lie two initials and one great story. Bogdan Georgescu, national coffee roasting champion and runner-up at the 2019 World Championship in Taipei, and Marius Beju, a specialist in communication and brand building—have jointly created a project that combines craftsmanship with aesthetics, precision with emotion. The roastery’s name is thus not just an acronym, but a symbol of a partnership in which technique and creativity go hand in hand. And behind it all stands family—the one that gives meaning to the daily work and to every cup.

MABÓ roasts specialty coffees in carefully selected batches, sourced from countries of origin that prioritize transparency and sustainability, in the heart of Bucharest at the MABÓ Roastery Vulturi. Today, the roastery operates three of its own cafés, supplies partner establishments in Romania and abroad, and sells online throughout Europe. The MABÓ world also includes coffee courses, tastings, and events—all built on the same values: respect, education, and the joy of well-prepared coffee. The fact that this isn’t just a marketing slogan is confirmed by the fact that MABÓ is the only Romanian roastery to have been nominated and awarded at The European Coffee & Hospitality Awards, where it ranked among the top 3 specialty roasteries in Europe.

The brand’s philosophy is captured by its own character mascot on the packaging—a figure that is curious, ever-changing, full of energy, and yet always present.
