Frukt Coffee Roasters is a modern Finnish roastery that prides itself on the philosophy of "less but better". Their approach focuses on enhancing the value of coffee through the selection of extremely high quality ingredients and precise roasting that brings out the natural fruitiness and purity of each bean.
The project is the brainchild of Samuli Pääkkönen, a prominent figure in the Nordic coffee scene, who founded the roastery in his hometown of Turku in 2018. Samuli gained valuable experience as a roaster at the local Turun Kahvipaahtimo and later at the globally renowned Copenhagen-based Coffee Collective. It was the Danish school and the emphasis on a transparent supply chain that became the cornerstone of his own business. Samuli believes that even a small business can make a big impact if it becomes an ambassador of quality for everyone along the chain - from the grower to the end customer.
The roastery is based near the harbour in Turku and works closely with local partners, including Michelin-starred restaurant Kaskis and renowned artisanal bakery Bageri Ã…. From summer 2024, they also run their own showroom and coffee bar in the city centre, where they showcase their limited editions and seasonal selections. Today, Frukt Coffee Roasters is a sought-after brand among coffee enthusiasts around the world who appreciate their clear vision: to deliver coffee that not only tastes great, but also has a deeper meaning.

This lot comes from the Araucária farm in the Minas Gerais region, run by Gabriel Barreto. The roastery maintains a very close relationship with this producer and the Arara variety has become their most popular for its ability to offer elegant fruity notes and strong acidity, which is not the norm in Brazilian coffees. The 'honey' processing of this batch enhances the purity of flavour and adds a complex sweetness, with beans roasted to stand out both on the filter and in the espresso. The flavour profile is very expressive and surprises with its freshness, dominated by bright notes of tropical fruit, especially mango. A creamy mouthfeel, reminiscent of the texture of yoghurt, and a vibrant acidity that adds energy and depth to the coffee complete the overall experience. Frukt Coffee RoastersMustafa Decaf coffee from Finnish roaster Frukt Coffee Roasters is changing the perceived notions of what decaffeinated coffee can taste like and is among the best in its category.
This exceptional lot comes from farms in the Pereira region of Colombia, owned and operated by Ana Mustafa's family. The roastery has been working with Ana since 2019 through the LaREB project, which focuses on excellence and fairness for producers. The Castillo coffee variety undergoes a classic wet processing followed by a gentle decaffeination method using sugarcane (Sugarcane process). Although the beans look unusual after this process, the flavour quality remains surprisingly high and complex thanks to this method, making it an ideal choice for all-day sipping without compromise. In the cup, Mustafa Decaf delights with its distinct sweetness and fruity character that is often suppressed in decaffeinated coffees. The Frukt roastery tunes it to stand out both on the filter and in the espresso, while the coffee retains the purity and balance typical of quality Colombian microlots. It's proof that even without caffeine, it's possible to enjoy a full-bodied flavour experience with all the nuances of a modern coffee selection.
